We have a routine we follow when raising our Ducks. We keep them penned until they are fully feathered. Then we turn them loose and it takes a bit of time, sometimes a week or so before they will test out the river.
The picture here is of 3 Runner Ducks, 2 White Emblem Geese and Venture the Canada Goose, and they are trying to decide if the river is a good thing.
